Surfaced (the "Service") is operated by Surfaced OÜ, a company registered in Estonia (the "Company", "we", "us"). Contact: hello@rewrite.ee.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Surfaced. If you are under 18, you confirm you have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

• You sign in with a one-time email code. Keep your email and device secure.
• You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
• You can delete your account at any time inside the app (You tab → Delete Account). Deletion is permanent and removes your data within 7 days.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.

Surfaced aggregates publicly available news and forum content matching your stated interests, generates daily summaries and audio briefings using third-party AI providers, and surfaces mentions or trends related to topics you choose to monitor.

We do not guarantee the accuracy of summaries or third-party sources. Content is provided for informational purposes only and is not financial, legal, medical, or professional advice. Always verify critical information against the original source.

• Surfaced offers a paid subscription for premium features (currently €9.99/month, subject to change).
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
• Auto-renewal: Your subscription automatically renews unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your device's account settings (iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions). Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Apple / Google according to their policies. We are not able to issue platform-billed refunds directly.
• Free trials, where offered, automatically convert to a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Attempt to access another user's account, scrape the Service, or interfere with its operation.
• Use the Service to monitor individuals in ways that violate privacy or anti-stalking laws.
• Resell, redistribute, or republish briefings or generated content as your own commercial product.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.

The Service, including its design, software, and original content (excluding third-party news articles), is owned by the Company and protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Third-party news headlines, images, and excerpts remain the property of their respective publishers.

The Service surfaces links and excerpts from third-party publishers and platforms (e.g. news outlets, Reddit). We do not endorse and are not responsible for third-party content, accuracy, or terms.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that summaries are complete or accurate.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €100, whichever is greater.

Your use of Surfaced is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and how we use it.

We may update the Service or these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Effective" date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Estonia. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Tallinn, Estonia, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.
